Crazy Horse Monument
Kachina Dolls from the Crazy Horse Museum.
(notes on colors for later because I did NOT break out the watercolors inside)
White Buffalo Kachina.

“Traditional kachinas were all wood, with arms close to body.”
A family from the Lakota and Hunkpapa tribes performing at the monument.
Then I went back in and drew more Kachinas. (further reading on clown kachina in The Delight Makers)
Back at Legion Lake Lodge, a ponderosa pine.
Just about the only kind of tree around and as we found out - too scaly to properly roast marshmallows on.
May 27: Museum at Black Hills Institute:

May 28: Jewel Cave:
